Pro Tip
"Parking can be confusing—use the general lot nearby or plan extra time for campus navigation."
Housed within the first Carnegie Library built on a black land-grant college campus, the Meek-Eaton Black Archives has one of the most extensive collections of African American artifacts in the Southeast. One of 10 black archives in the country, it contains more than 500,000 archival records and 5,000 artifacts in its collection. Hours: Closed on Mondays Tuesday - Friday 10 AM TO 4:30 PM Saturday 10 AM to 3 PM Visitors must enter the building through the front, where the Carnegie Library is located. Additionally, if they choose to park in the guest parking spots in the rear near Dyson Pharmacy, visitors must first proceed to the FAMU Welcome Center or Parking Services to obtain a Guest Parking Pass and begin the approval process. If a visitor parks without following this procedure and completing it in its entirety, the archives will not be responsible for any ticketing or towing that may occur.
